History[]
2007[]
On March 3, Canary Club was formed with girls represented by the agency Space Craft Group. Most members of Canary Club were active in modeling and acting before the group was formed, with an age range spanning twelve years and rather distinguished height differences. Their name was originally written as "Canaria Club", but it was later changed to the current "Canary Club".
On May 3, Canary Club released their debut indies single, "SWEET & TOUGHNESS".
On July 25, they released their second indies single, "Seishun Banzai!".
On October 15, NICE GIRL Project! was formed with Canary Club as one of the two major flagship groups, the other being THE Possible. It was at this time that the Canary Club began an outsourcing management agreement with TNX.
On October 17, they released their first indies album, "① Kanari Canary".
2008[]
On January 1, they released their third indies single, "FAITH!".
On April 9, they released their fourth indies single, "Nishiki Kazare".
On July 16, they released their fifth indies single, "Hitomi ga Kirakirara".
On November 19, Ogamana released her major debut solo album, "Suppin Rock", which also featured other Canary Club members as chorus vocals.
2009[]
On January 12, Rippon graduated from Canary Club at the final performance of Tsunku Theater #7 - Hero no Jijou.
On June 14, Eri~na graduated from Canary Club, but remained a member under NICE GIRL Project!. On the same day, Chiichan joined as a sub-member.
On August 26, they released their second indies album, "② Ee ja Nai ka".
On December 25, Chiichan was officially promoted from sub-member to a full member of Canary Club.
2010[]
On March 21, Ucchi graduated from Canary Club to concentrate on her studies.
On August 4, they released their sixth indies single "Daisukki!".
2011[]
On May 1, Canary Club's outsourcing management agreement with TNX ended, and Okkyan and Macchan graduated from Canary Club. Okkyan intended to concentrate on her studies, while Macchan did not give a specific reason. Ayubee, Ogamana, Ikucchi, and Mikkii returned to their affiliations with Space Craft Group to resume individual activities.
On July 21, the video game Minna no Rhythm Tengoku was released in Japan. Much like its previous installments, it featured songs performed by various artists, including NICE GIRL Project! and Canary Club. This would be one of their last activities as a group before they became inactive, with no new releases or live performances. As of late 2011, there was no official announcement regarding their future activities or any possible disbandment. They were presumed to be on an indefinite hiatus.
2012-present[]
On January 9, 2015, Chiichan shared on her official blog that she had left TNX and Canary Club.
After Canary Club's unofficial suspension of activities, Ayubee became a choreographer for other idol groups, Ogamana continued activities as a soloist, and Ikucchi became a member of the group Miss Marine as a sixth generation member. Mikkii continued activities as a model, released a pair of photobooks, and got married.
On October 4, 2018, Canary Club reunited with the remaining four members for the first time in about seven years for a one-time performance at TNX's international exchange musical event It's a Girl's Pop World! at Hatsudai The DOORS.[1]
